Sunlight helps your skin produce vitamin D, which supports calcium absorption and bone strength. Studies show that in just 30 minutes of sun exposure, your body can make:

  • Up to 50,000 IUs of vitamin D if you have fair skin (10–15 minutes)

  • 20,000–30,000 IUs if you have tanned skin (20–30 minutes)

  • 8,000–10,000 IUs if you have dark skin (45–60 minutes)

Low vitamin D levels are linked to bone disorders like rickets and osteoporosis, so a bit of sunshine really can keep you stronger for longer.
